Crafting skill

I've been looking for a way to craft items, but it seems that this is impossible. I bought black dragon hides in the skills shop in varrock, but there is only thread there and there are no needles, which makes the fact of being able to craft impossible.
You might also want to consider adding a way to smelt gold bars into jewellery.
